Dart Europe's portfolio in Poland comprises of the Chelm, Milejow and USCB licences in the south and southeastern part of the country with 100% ownership in each block.
Chelm
Chelm was one of two blocks Composite held at the time of Dart's initial investment, with an area of 760 km2. The exploration period has been extended to February 2013 with the obligation to drill one additional core well. The licence is adjacent to Composite's new Milejow (see below) concession. Netherland Sewell & Associates Inc has estimated gross CBM OGP of 2.0 Tcf and gross prospective resource of 240 Bcf.
Milejow
Milejow was a direct award licence issued to Composite in November 2010 by the Polish authorities and has an area of 372 km2. The primary interest in Milejow is for shale gas where Composite has previously identified sizeable shale gas potential. CBM forms a substantial secondary target. Milejow is adjacent to several blocks held by ExxonMobil, who have already completed one shale gas well in the basin. An independent resource certification exercise was conducted during 2011 and Milejow is estimated to hold 9.5 Tcf of gross OGIP.
The Milejow CBM work programme in 2011 included the acquisition of seismic data. Dart is currently imaging the shale potential and assessing a possible extension of the existing CBM play fairway on this block.
USCB
The USCB licence covers an area of 323 km2 in the centre of the Upper Silesian coal basin, which has had a 15 year history of CBM activity. The licence was acquired by Composite in December 2010.
In late 2011, Dart completed a single vertical core well. The well was of a 'hybrid' core / production design for collection of reservoir data and to act as an intercept for a future pilot production well. Initial results were positive with coal thickness in excess of 10 metres, and gas content in excess of 10m3/ton.
